In September 2009, the European Society of Paediatric Nephrology (ESPN) held its 43rd annual scientific meeting in Birmingham, UK. As part of this meeting, the first day was held as a joint meeting with the Renal Association, a first for both societies, and devoted to the topic of 'Cystic kidney diseases and the role of the primary cilium'. This was an excellent meeting with an overarching 'bench-to-bedside' theme with some exciting 'state-of-the-art' lectures from scientists and clinicians working at one of the cutting edge areas in kidney research.
The presentations from that symposium are now available from the link.

This valuable educational resource is available free as a webcast, thanks to an educational grant from Abbott Labs. I strongly encourage members to view the talks and to use them widely for CPD, teaching and training. Please also send us any feedback on whether this format might be useful for future meetings.
