This month we are also pleased to announce that the three Executive Committee positions have been filled by Sunil Bhandari, Claire Sharpe and Alistair Hutchison - congratulations to them all. They will undertake their new positions later on this year.

Together with two existing joint fellowships offered by KRUK and ISN, there are now 3 annual fellowships available to enable suitably qualified overseas trainees to undertake a period of clinical and research training in UK renal units. This is often highly beneficial to both the home and host institutions since the fellow would be expected to return to their home institution following completion. Application deadlines are normally in June and December. Further details are available through the ISN website. | Bernd Teersteegen Award 2011 This annual award of 8000 Euro is awarded internationally for basic and particularly for clinical research related to chronic renal insufficiency and to advances in treatment of endstage renal disease.
