Dear Colleagues,

 

Welcome to eNews March 2011.

 

I would like to open this month's eNews by offering my warmest congratulations to Dr David Wheeler for his success in the recent elections. David will become President-elect at our AGM in Birmingham in June 2011 and will serve as President from 2012 to 2014.

 

Thank you also to the other candidates for standing in this election.

 

Please be reminded that today, 31 March is the deadline to receive your expressions of interest for the position of Chair of the Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee, click here for full details.

 

Today is also the deadline to receive nominations for three new members of the Executive Committee. Please click here to download the nomination form. Having a place on the Executive Committee will give you the chance to help steer the direction of the Renal Association and to take part in the Executive Committee discussion forum. 

 

As we move into April we move closer to our joint conference with the BRS at the ICC, Birmingham. Please be reminded that the Early Bird deadline closes on 20 April 2011 so click here for substantial savings on an early registration. The meeting will take place between the 6 and 9 June 2011, you can see the programme here.

Question Time on Organ Donation and Transplantation 

The Renal Association have been invited to attend a Question Time on Organ Donation and Transplantation on Tuesday 10th May 2011, 10:00-11:30 in the House of Commons. There are two places available for those who wish to represent the Association. Please click here for more information. Reducing HCIAs 2011 Conference - Three Delegate Places Available

The Renal Association  have kindly been offered three fully funded delegate places to the Reducing HCAIs 2011 Conference being held at The Brewery in London on Tuesday 21 June 2011. These places will be offered on a first come first served basis therefore if you are interested in taking up this generous offer, please contact the RA Secretariat on renal@mci-group.com as soon as possible.

Amgen Bursaries  

Amgen have generously sponsored 10 bursaries of £500 each to support attendance at the RA/BRS joint meeting in June. The deadline to apply is Friday 08 April 2011. ERA-EDTA Research Programme - Deadline Today

Funding Opportunity for Intercalated Degrees    

Kidney Research UK is offering grants of £5000 over one year to medical students undertaking research that is directly relevant to the kidney and kidney disease as part of an intercalated degree, commencing in October 2011 (academic year 2011/12). More information
