Hope you had an enjoyable and happy Bank Holiday weekend!
 
This month's edition of eNews highlights a couple of important deadlines for you to take note of; today, Tuesday 31 August, is the deadline for applications for the AEG Raine Award, the Lockwood Award and Walls' Bursaries. Friday 10 September is the deadline for application of September's residential Advanced Nephrology Course early bird rate.
 
Below you will see a very inspirational interview from John Sayer, Raine Award Winner 2007, thank you John.  
 
We also ask for your feedback on the first drafts of the guidelines on detection and management of CKD.  And, for your assistance in providing us with contact details of NCCG doctors in Renal Medicine. Read on for full details.

The first draft of the Clinical Practice Guideline on detection and management of CKD is now available on the RA website -Click herePlease send feedback on the final draft to the co-authors Dr Maartan Taal at Maartan.Taal@derbyhospitals.nhs.uk and Dr Mark Macgregor at Mark.MacGregor@aaaht.scot.nhs.uk within 1 month from now. 
 
The first draft of the Clinical Practice Guideline post-operative care of the kidney transplant recipient is now available on  the RA website. 
 
Please send feedback on the final draft to the co-authors Dr Richard Baker at Richard.Baker@leedsth.nhs.uk and Prof Alan Jardine at A.Jardine@clinmed.gla.ac.uk within 1 month from now. 
NCEPOD 
NCEPOD (the National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Death and Outcome) has invited the Renal Association to submit a proposal for a future audit. If you have a suggestion for a topic, please write to charlie.tomson@nbt.nhs.uk
