Renal PatientView - Users Meet the Developers Meeting

A very successful users meeting was attended by about 100 staff, patient and other group representatives, as well as suppliers, Depts of Health, and those interested in patient access to records, in Edinburgh on September 24th 2008. The programme is shown below and useful information and presentations are downloadable at the foot of the page.

Renal PatientView is the renal community's pioneering project that gives patients immediate access to test results and information about their diagnosis and treatment online via the Internet. Three years after its official launch there are over 8,000 patient registrations from 33 of the UK's renal units, with 10-12 more units in the process of installing it. This type of access is on the wish-list of Health departments and some other specialties but Renal is far ahead in implementation.

  • What can we and others learn from our experience?
  • How can we do better?
  • What else would we like to do with it?
