World Kidney Day

by Renal Secretariat | Mar 10, 2017

9th March 2017 is World Kidney Day. The theme this year is obesity and the kidney. Although obesity plays an important role in the development of chronic kidney disease, it is often overlooked as a risk factor. By adopting a healthy diet, increasing levels of physical activity and adopting other lifestyle changes, individuals can prevent obesity and reduce the risk of CKD and other diseases.

The joint position of World Kidney Day and the World Obesity Federation can be found here

More information and news about the day can be found at the World Kidney Day websites http://www.worldkidneyday.org and http://www.worldkidneyday.co.uk
