Statement by the RA Trustees on the trainee doctors dispute

by Renal Secretariat | Nov 27, 2015

The Renal Association acknowledges the recent British Medical Association ballot of trainee doctors, which was overwhelmingly in favour of limited strike action on 1st, 8th and 16th December 2015.

The Renal Association believes that maintaining and developing the highest quality patient care relies on a highly skilled, motivated and valued trainee workforce. Our trainees are the backbone of our service today and will be the clinical and academic leaders of tomorrow.

The Renal Association urges both the BMA and Department of Health to return to constructive negotiation, and hopes a settlement can be found that both protects the long term interest of patients and values our junior doctors appropriately.
