Renal Medicine Symposium

  • Dates: 27 – 27 Apr, 2017
Dates: Thursday 27th April 2017
Location: Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh

The programme and online booking are now available here.

The past decade has seen huge progress in the field of nephrology with rapid translation of research findings into daily clinical practice. Examples of these innovations include new strategies for diagnosing acute kidney injury from laboratory data right across to targeted ‘precision medicine’ approaches in the management of glomerulonephritis. New medicines and approaches to immunology have facilitated kidney transplants in patients previously unable to find a suitably matched kidney. The spectrum of drugs used to treat patients with diabetes and kidney disease has increased dramatically.

We anticipate that this symposium featuring internationally recognised speakers, will give insights into some of the major recent developments in renal medicine. The programme will be of particular interest to both trainee and senior nephrologists, immunologists, pathologists and transplant surgeons, as well as being informative for general physicians who are involved in the care of patients with kidney disease, such as diabetologists and acute physicians.

We hope that delegates come ready with questions and comments for the experts and we expect healthy debate of controversial topics.
